HONORS INFO

By participating in Honor’s English through Vineyard Academy, you will improve your GPA and participate in an in-depth study of concepts and philosophies addressed in class.  You will have supplementary homework assignments that require critical analysis of reading material.  Also, you will respond to questions in a thorough and formal manner, demonstrating your ability to analyze text, think critically, make complex comparisons, and incorporate thoughtful commentary into your writing. In addition, you will be reading supplemental novels and participate in discussions that challenge your understanding of universal themes.

Students registered as Honors have the same requirements as the non-honors students, with the following exceptions:

1.     Additional reading:  For each literature/writing unit, you will read additional material.

2.     Running online discussion, with material from your reading and homework posted on collaborize.  Minimum—2 posts a week.

3.     A-Day Wednesday lunch meetings. Bring your lunch and start discussions 10 minutes into the lunch.  Attendance will affect grade.
