WELCOME STUDENTS AND PARENTS
The WISE guys! (From left to right: Greg Lands, Stefan Klakovich, Paul Jolly)
To all my new or returning WISE students, Welcome to Environmental Science. I am presently planning out the activities for the school year and encourage new students or parents to e-mail me their questions or concerns (sklakovich@wusd.org) Click on the links at the left to get detailed information. For example, you can find out the units we will study this year by clicking on ES course information.
This year, students will have English and Government before lunch with Mr. Jolly and Mr. Ganzler, and then more project based stuff with Klakovich and Lands after lunch.
We will continue to work with Global Student Embassy and LandPaths but will also be working with new partners this year in order to give our students more exposure to environmental careers
We will continue to use the same online grading program but they have changed their name to JuptierGrades. You will be given usernames and passwords on the first day of class. If you did not receive one, send me an email and I will be happy to give you this information.
I can't wait to see all of you!
Mr. Klakovich
Dear Parent or Guardian,
I am looking forward to helping
your son/daughter have a productive year. We can help them most by making sure
we keep all lines of communication open. Please feel free to e-mail me or leave
a message on my school phone whenever you have a question or concern. (e-mail
is best)
I will continue to use the
on-line grading program (Now called JupiterGrades)
that enables you and your child to check grades at any time from home. Your son
or daughter will be given usernames and passwords the first week of class.
Email me if you need either of these.
I encourage you to explore this website as it is full of important information. You should definitely check out the Senior / Junior Project Ideas link for a list of meaningful projects. (all WISE students must have an environmentally themed project this year)
We plan on going on several
exciting field trips this year and will be asking parents to help as
chaperones. I hope you will take advantage of this exiting opportunity if you
can.
Due to the current economic climate, we are asking that each students'
family contribute $10 toward classroom supplies such as paper, journals
and unlimited use of filtered water throughout the year.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Stefan Klakovich
